Pros: Precise; easy to use; battery time is exceptional; specialty buttons are actually useful. Cons: Expensive
Over the years I have learned that a computer mouse is not just a mouse; it in many ways defines your computing experience. A smooth running mouse is a joy to work with, while a mouse that skips, jitters, and has a mind of its own can tack minutes or ...
Pros: Lots of buttons to work with. Less picky about surfaces. Cons: Buggy drivers
A little background: I just bought a new Dell laptop, and I wanted to buy a wireless mouse to avoid using the touchpad. I remember reading about the new MX1000 because of its innovative laser tracking system. I had 65$ in store credit at Circuit City so ...
Pros: LED power display, recharging base, laser tracking mechanism, special buttons. Cons: Ergonomics
Introduction: I've been looking for some time now for a rechargeable wireless mouse to replace my trusty Logitech Cordless Optical Mouseman which I've had since 2000. The original Cordless Optical Mouseman was the first cordless optical mouse and ...
Pros: comfortable, 7 buttons and tilt-wheel, precise tracking, LED battery meter Cons: short battery life, base needs power, software lacks application-specific settings
I am picky about my mice; over the past 4 years I have owned no less than 5 of them. Mice and keyboards are generally the only part of a computer you touch all day, so I have no apprehension about looking for the right devices. The MX1000 is the ...
Pros: Exceptional design.
Wireless RF
Works smoothly almost any surface
Comfortable ergonomics.
Exceptionally smooth scroll. Cons: $80US isn't a cheap accessory.
Non-user replaceable battery - Previous models used AA's.
Logitech have long had a reputation for making some of the best mice in the market. From their humble basic optical mouse to the much revered gaming MX518; MX700 and MX900. The MX1000 is the newest edition to the Logitech stable. It's main marketing ...
Pros: Newest thing on the block breathing life into an old idea Cons: Physical construction defects detract from the quality of the product
I'm an avid fan of Logitech hardware, and have used their MX line of mice for some time now. I own and still use the MX 500, 510, 700 and now the 1000 (I have a lot of computers). So... what's all the hype about? This is the first laser pointing ...
Pros: Numerous buttons, enhanced surface compatibility, battery level indicator, less interference with older wireless mice Cons: Higher price, left-side forward/back buttons awkward to press, no keyboard/mouse combo (yet?), no bluetooth model
I'm going to skip most of the general technical specifications as you can easily get those from Logitech's site as well as many retailers. What I will give you is my general feedback on the functionality of the mouse and how I feel it compares to my ...
Pros: Extremely smooth tracking, no jumping, no wireless lag, nice ergonomics, looks fantastic Cons: Software could be better (easily fixed though)
I read a few reviews before deciding to purchase the Logitech MX-1000 and someone mentioned that he experienced "Mousing heaven". I laughed at that for quite a while and decided to buy it based on the good reviews. I've never used a cordless mouse ...
Pros: Precision, Wireless Performance, Ease of Charging, Programmable Buttons, Battery Life, Battery Indicator LED, Looks Cons: Slightly more price than other mice
First of all, before you do anything else, go to a CompUSA or something like that and try out the shape... if you find it agreeable, read on...
I have always been a fan of well-designed mice - I had the original MouseMan Optical by Logitech when it first came out, as well as the original Intellimouse my Microsoft. My old MouseMan was getting old, so it was time to get a new mouse. I considered the MX700 and MX510 by Logitech (I have always liked Logitech more than other mouse manufacturers) but I said what the heck and just bought their new, best mouse, the MX1000. This mouse is simply the best ever. It is the most PRECISE with the laser sensor, the most CONVENIENT, with wireless and a good charging base, and the EASIEST to use with all the programmable buttons. There is practically no downside to this mouse, except if the price is too much for you. Basically if you really care about your mousing experience and don't mind paying slightly more than other mice, get this mouse. It is the ultimate (and probably will be for quite awhile).
You people haven't owned this mouse long enough by goofyfoot2001 ,Dec 12 '06
Pros: Look and feel and buttons Cons: It just doesn't work.
I bought this mouse with the mx5000 combo back in may 2006. Everything worked great until about a month later. No there is no amount of tweeking that can get this crappy mouse to track worth a dam. Depending on the surface it is jerky and tracks across the screen like Michael J. Fox crossing the street. When you get a surface that isn't jerky then you see a great deal of lag on the screen like dragging a bungi mouse. Its lame and Logitech could care less. I've even ben banned from their forums. They know there is a problem and they will not fix it.
Got the first a couple of years ago and liked it so much that I ended up buying another for work... yes, that's right, I bought my own mouse for work. That's how good it is. I tried cordless optical mice before but they would go into a power saver mode after just two seconds and then be initially irresponsive when moving again. That's why gamers hated them and I'm just picky when doing precision work so I hated them too. Anyway, this new generation doesn't seem to have that bad trait. They stay charged for days on end and have a little LED power meter showing charge level, which turns red when they get really low so it's easy to notice that they need to be charged. Great feature.
Pros: Fits my hand perfectly. Lots of buttons to configure and none get in my way. Cons: Haven't found any yet but it is still early.
No mouse pad. Contrary to the last post the ergonomics on this mouse are sensational. I have been using it for about 4 hours now on an oak desk with no mouse pad. Just incredible. No more skipping and stalling like my ms IR mouse. Highly recommended.
