I always enjoy Amazon. I was a vendor for the marketplace. They have a great system in place. The products are delivered on time and accurate. Customer service is fine unless you really are into 'live people'. I'm computer savvy so that doesn't bug me as much.

The best on-line marketplace...better than ebay since they police the bad apples and ebay takes longer. I've never had a bad experience with them.

I had a great experience with Amazon.com Marketplace. I had to order textbooks for my classes and went to Amazon because I thought it would be cheaper than going to the bookstore. I was right! I managed to save at least $60 on books. The books were delivered within a week and were the right books.
I am very satisfied with my experience with Amazon.com Marketplace.

Amazon is a rip off for all sellers, they freeze your funds randomly and have a team in India called Alliance that deals with suspension and they suck: Broken english, conflicting reasons, Class law suit to start in MA but need 3 more victims of Amazon Alliance abuse. Good prices, tricky shipping charges, bad customer service.

I was addicted to Amazon over christmas, got all my shopping done with it. However, their customer service department sucks. I really wouldn't shop with them again unless I was really desperate (I would shop amazon before walmart, though...). Delivery is usually right on, although it once took me over 4 weeks to receive a DVD that I had ordered, so that really irritated me. Also, I ordered a video game and they sent me the Gamecube version instead. Of course I was so excited to get it, cuz it was on backorder for 2 weeks, I started to open it right away, and realized that they had screwed up, I asked their customer service dept what to do about it, and they restated the federal copyright policy and their company policies to me. Didn't help out much, so I am saying that their customer service sucks, actually one of the worst I have ever delt with, and I work customer service in retail.

Terrible experience with Vibe Cellular.com

I ordered a Garmin GPS from VibeCellular.com which is part of this amazon marketplace. When the order was placed I received an email that my order would ship within two day. I waited three days and heard nothing more from them so I tryed to call but of course they will not answer their phone. I emailed them and received an email back that I would be receiving my GPS on the following Tuesday. That Monday I received an email from them telling me my order was cancelled (the day before it was supposed to arrive).
I don't know how most of you feel about this sort of thing but I dislike being lied to and taken advantage of. I needed that GPS for a trip and they left me hanging and on my own to go out and buy one at a much higher price at the last minute.
I would never suggest anyone buy anything from VibeCellular and I hope they go out of business!

The Amazon return policy for gifts is a joke. If the gift giver does not check the gift box on the order form then the gift recipient can not return the item and get a "store credit" or something like that. The refund goes to the gift giver.
In todays shopping environment all you should need is a receipt and the item to make a return. Not so with Amazon - and this inflexible and unwritten policy (at the time of ordering - you only find out about this when you try to return the item) has cost them a customer for life. I recommend Overstock.com for better prices, better shipping costs. Barnes and Noble.com is much better for books, cds, etc.

amazon.com good, amazon marketplace very bad

I have ordered a lot from amazon.com, and have recently been ordering from Amazon Marketplace sellers. My advice DONT! At least not from the 3rd party sellers. I have never had a problem ordering from amazon.com directly, but I recently received a defective product from a 3rd party seller and was told I had to pay for shipping to return it before I could get a replacement. I complained to amazon and they basically said too bad "At this time, sellers do not have the ability to refund an Amazon Marketplace order for more than the original order total (cost of the item + the original shipping fee." If you dont like to have to pay for defective merchandise, DO NOT order from an Amazon Marketplace seller.

I have shopped via Amazon for several years, both their online store and Marketplace and have never had a problem. Granted, my purchases were all books; however, even using Marketplace, I have not encountered any issues and have always had excellent service. As far as I am aware, the "free shipping" on orders over $25 were for qualifying items, which has always been stated on the item as, "this items qualifies for free shipping". Also it is good to remember, free shipping orders are low priority and may not be sent right away, and when they are shipped are usually sent USPS media mail, the cheapest and slowest form of shipping (sometimes up to 2 weeks). There were two times when the books I wanted were out of stock, both at Amazon and Marketplace, my credit card was not charged and they sent follow-up emails requesting if I still wanted the item. All in all, my experience has been excellent with Amazon. I have since joined their program and get my orders in 2 days via UPS.

I love Amazon.com. Almost everything I buy online, either comes from Amazon or a clothes company... When you order something from Amazon, you know that you are not going to get cheated! One problem, is that they do not show their customer service number on the site. To save everyone time, the phone number's are:

When You Cancel The Free Trial - They Charge You Twice

As a potential future merchant. I signed on for Amazon's free trial for their merchant services. Finding that it was a bad match for my particular needs, I cancelled within the free window. I received a polite email stating that I would not be charged and thanks for trying, etc.
On my next statement, I was charged. Fine, these things happen. I wrote to Amazon, and to my credit card, the charge was removed. This was August.
In September, I was charged twice, and again in October.
I've written them again, but am scared to death, I'll have four charges in November.

I find online prices to be lower than local retailers. It's interesting to see the large price differences, even online, for the exact same product. Shipping is prompt but can sometimes add considerably to the cost of an item. I always check out free shipping options first.

Amazon Service Stinks - Show "In Stock" When They Don't Have Any!!

Amazon lists items as "In Stock" (in green bold) they do not have to sell.
Amazon offers delivery "Estimates" they can not achieve.
Their Customer Service replies to complaints with form emails telling you how they can't control anything.
Think they are too big to fail even with lousy service.
DON'T SHOP Amazon!!
