Never got to place my order: not customer friendly.

I tried to order 2 DVDs worth about $60 from the Best Buy Online Store and got as far as the name, address, etc, and they required me to give my phone number in order to complete the transaction.
Having signed up for the National Do Not call list, I checked the Best Buy privacy policy. In a nutshell, there is nothing private.
I purchased the items from Barnes & Noble ( few dollars more) fast, and no phone number needed.
I wrote to the Best Buy Customer service department, and told them that even Radio Shack has finally stopped asking your number when you buy a 9 volt battery. The webpage refused to send my message. Guess why? So I filled the field with 999-999-9999, and it worked.
Sorry Best Buy, I lost no money with you but you're not customer oriented.

Horrible, terrible service, poor return policy

Bought an LCD projector through a sales associate who took the product out of the box and showed me what came with it. I purchased the item ($800+). I never used the product but when I went to return it 5 days later I was told about a restocking fee since the box was opened. I argued that I walked out of the store with the box opened and never used it but, the SOB store manager wouldn't budge. I walked out of the store less $112 but perhaps money well spent since I will never shop there again, ever.

I KNOW THAT THEIR ORDERS ARE SHIPPED 2-3 DAYS AFTER PLACING YOUR ORDER. So I know I've always received my item on time.

bestbuy.com store pick up is unreliable

Don't expect your product to be available for pick up at a store when you order from bestbuy.com. I ordered a computer to pick up at a particular store. When I went to pick it up during my lunch break, I was told the computer was not there. I got sent to another store 45 minutes away. Went to other store and found out that my internet order was invalid even though the computer was there. "The system" would need 45 minutes to make the transfer. So much for my lunch break and using the internet to keep from "running around". I'll take my business elsewhere.

DO NOT SHOP HERE! This place sucks. I bought a hand vac and after 45 days is stopped working properly. Best Buy offered to haved it SERVICED at more cost than it was worth. They wouldn't replace the 30$ vacuum! Later I bought a washing machine and after 32 days- they refused to replace it because it was over the 30 days- even though it was eating clothes. Costco and Home Depot help their consumers.

Best Buy is Actually WORST BUY

ALWAYS AVOID Shopping at Best Buy - Offline or on-line, anywhere. They have the worst customer service when you have any sort of problems with any of their products and they will fight with you till the end and say it is only your fault instead of taking anything back for full return. They always want to charge re-stocking fee of 15% on anything you wish to return even if the product has defects and even if you are returning quickly with very little use. I bought a camcorder from Best Buy and since the product did not perform correctly I took it to the store for return the very next day. I had the whole package in a very nice condition and I tried to demonstrate the problem to them but they will not listen anything! They will fight you in the worst way but will never take off the 15% restocking fee from your refund money.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I too ordered a laptop the night before their sale and they sent me an email the next day AFTER the sale was off stating that they were not going to fill my order due to "availability". However, it was available the next on their website for much more money.
Illegal! Don't buy from them.

Went in the buy a laptop. Bought one got it home. It start to malfunction. We took it back saying something wropng with it. Tech says: Nothing wrong. We say yes there is owning and operating a computer longer then the tech has been alive. Best Buy says tuff your computer. We say no dont want it it is broke. After a hour arguing. BEST BUY SAYS:15% of returned funds to restock a broke computer that they will resell at full price again.
Bottomline: "$240 EDUCATIONAL LESSON NEVER TO SHOP AT BEST BUY AGAIN"!!!

Very bad installation

I had purchased a Washing Machine and dryer at BestBuy. Delivery - On time
Installation - Very Bad, Unprofessional. They just placed the washer, dryer where need to be, connected hoses and left. After they had gone I checked the manual and found that there are particular sequence of installation which was not at all followed. They didn't bother to do the basic step of leveling the machine leave rest of the things. I am still struggling to get my machine set right.
So guys, make sure that the installers are doing it right. I don't think installation and delivery crew has any training provided by the store.

Charge my credit card twice and made me wait one week to get my 1500 back even though it was their mistake. When I found out the product I purchased was defective, they refused to send me a replacement for the price I bought it at (it was on sale). They wanted to charge me again at the now higher price and return the other for a credit. Totally aweful service. DO NOT BUY HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. They screwed up my order every step of the way and wanted me to suffer through all their mistakes.

Classic Bait & Switch

I was shopping for a new digital camera and the BestBuy.com website had $50 by Mail Rebate notice on the page with the camera so I ordered the camera for store pick-up.
When I went to the store I found that there was a 15% restocking charge if I brought the camera back after opening the box.
When I got home an went online to find out how to claim my rebate I discovered that the rebate only applied if I purchased on an HP photo printer. Classic Bait & Switch.

Ordering was easy the rest was a nightmare. Best Buy sent the wrong order and then gave us three different stories of how to return item. Although it was their mistake they will not ship what we ordered because I signed for receiving the box. (We received three boxes and I signed for boxes not the contents!) We have to wait until this mix up is settled AND THEN reorder the items. Although Online site states local store will receive unwanted merchandise they would not and we had to pay for shipping. Action taken. . .cancelled order and bought items elsewhere.

My experience at WORST BUY:
Worst experience ever. I rated them with 1 star because there is no option for 0 stars. On the Black Friday sale I placed the order for the Samsung DVD/VCR combo. It was meant to be my daughters birthday gift. I have a confirmation e-mail that item is in stock and will be shipped soon. A couple of days later I received another e-mail saying that item is on backorder and I will get it in 1 to 3 weeks. Not good but what can I do. Finally, I received the e-mail that my order was canceled. Thats it just cancelled. Other reputable stores would replace me this item with another one. Customer service is useless they dont want to listen to you, they do not transfer you to a supervisor.
They are covering behind the disclaimer on their web site. Anyway, Im going to submit my complaint to the FTC. And I recommend you to do the same. We must put this store out of business. Stay away from Best Buy.

Placed an order online for piece of office furniture. They completed order and gave me a delivery date for 3 weeks from time of order. Received email 3 days before scheduled delivery date saying item discontinued. Phone number that they gave in email for "customer service" was a joke. Lengthy, LENGTHY automated options without one having to do with customer service. Best Buy does not know the meaning of "customer service" (just look at the length of the "returns" line when you are in one of their stores).

Moronic shipping methods!

I am very dismayed at the inefficient process Best Buy uses for shipping!I placed an order on Aug 25, it did not leave their facility until the 28th (3days), and then went to a UPS facility for yet another day, and finally was deposited in the USPS system on Aug 29th.(4days and it has not left Cincinatti yet!)Now I am at the mercy of the USPS, and only God knows when they will deliver the item.
It has been almost 2 weeks since I placed the order and still no delivery. Their customer service says that I can track the order, but it stops after UPS delivers to the POST OFFICE!
It seems to me that if I am being charged for shipping, that it should, at least, be efficient! If it was free I could see why they cut corners.They will not get another order from me!
EBAY is quicker!

The initial tracking showed that it was issued. A couple of days later I was notified that it was back ordered. I waited a week and then called customer service. The rep informed me that they had no idea how long it would be back ordered and that after 90 days I needed to notify customer service that I wanted to keep this on back order. I think this is unacceptable and cancelled the order.
