A few months ago, I purchased a modern lookong pendant chandelier from Lamps Plus. The price was $300.00.
The shades were advertised as black and the salesman verified that they were black.
The shades were a medium brown when lit. I phoned and e mailed several times. Finally I reached a salesman who said the manufacturer would contact me. NO RESPONSE from Lamps Plus or the mfg.
I emailed with a review, a positive one one of the lamp other than a color problem with the 2 shades. They never published the review since I mentioned the total lack of customer care after the sale.
Lamps Plus salespeople are very very friendly before the sale but there is absolutely no customer service after the sale. I only wanted them to follow up on an incorrect shade color but nothing.
I clearly would not recommend dealing with this company. I have purchased from other lighting companies before and customer service after the sale have been stellar on the rare occasion I needed assistance.

First of all they are friendly when you first walk into their store, but once you indicate interest in purchasing, the entire experience worsens. Three times I went back for the same thing and each time they turned to help someone else while in the middle of my transaction. My store order was sold to me without their checking the condition (arrived broken due to their poor internal packaging and discovered when I got home) and I've been trying to get it fixed since 1 1/2 months ago, after emailing them, calling, leaving voice mails, going to the store, calling their customer service and corporate offices...not to mention that my bathroom job is now on hold. This store clearly has only one interest, which is to make a sale. While this one light is only a small item, they have lost my future sales on the home currently in the building process. This clearly is not a business interested in standing by their products, providing customer service for other than a quick light bulb, or keeping future business.

I ordered three items online. They then contacted me saying they had to "double-check" my billing address since I "failed" to include it. I went to my email confirmation and saw my billing address clearly on the original order. And, funny, the money was already taken from my account. When I called the rep back to tell her this, she cut me off and spoke to me in a condescending manner. I finally had to cut her rant off and just say, "what can I do at this moment to get the order shipped". I was told there was nothing to do since I already repeated my address at the beginning of the call. Was she kidding? She chided me and there was no point to it. Awful! It has been almost a month and I have only receive 1 out of 3 items. These items never said "back ordered" online. So, I called and emailed to find out what was going on.....no response. They do not call back after promising to do so and they do not reply to any emails so far. HORRIBLE customer service and overall service. Do not order from them online, if at all.

Lamps Plus has a great selection of lighting at pretty good prices but WATCH OUT for their pricing. I have ordered twice from Lamps Plus and both times I have found the same product for a lower price within a short amount of time. The second time the item was "on sale" via an email that I received from them. Two days later I picked up the catalog I received days earlier and found the same item for $30 lower. Happily, this time, they adjusted the price and gave me a credit but if I weren't so diligent at checking on prcing I would be out my hard earned cash. The first time it took me a while longer and several emails to get credited properly.
I am really annoyed with this retailer but I do like their products so it puts me in a bind. I really hate ordering from them but probably will in the future, but will be very, very careful and check prices several times. i like Lighting Universe as well but have not ordered from them yet.

I've got Polished Steel Swoop Desk Lamp from Lamps Plus, which broke within a year. I wanted to post a negative review on their website, they approved it but they NEVER post on their page! I have noticed it, so I posted again, no luck, they don't post it on their page. I sent an e-mail asking why they don't post my ratings, they just told me they post all positive/negative ratings but didn't answer me WHY they don't post my ratings. I searched for all ratings on there, spending almost an hour to check any reviews. Any reviews on there I noticed are rated over 4 out of 5. DO NOT trust all the ratings on there, obviously, they don't wanna post any negative ratings.

Took several calls to find out why my order had not shipped. It turned out that it was not in at the Warehouse and they had ordered from a store location of Lamps Plus who never shipped. They finally shipped from the warehouse and would not pick up the expense of faster delivery when I explained I had an electrician already scheduled and could not reschedule (house under contraction and contractor tightly scheduled sub contractors) Now I need to hire the electrician to come back once the light fixture shows up. I was never told of the possible delay due to not having this in stock.
These people aways have what I'm looking for, and the few times I've needed help, they are right there on the phone. I always recommend them to friends. Thanks! Read more

My lamp arrive quickly and ok but broke as I assembled it. I was told to send it back and a replacement would be sent. I have not seen the replacement and this is now 5-6 weeks later. I made a follow up call and know the lamp was received back at the distributor but, I have not heard from them or seen my replacement since then. Read more
