I ordered a quilt rack on November 3. Today is November 21 and I am still waiting for it. I found out AFTER I placed the order that it was coming from a separate distributor...however no one told me then that it would take this long. I tried to contact them by phone but I got no reply. I finally reached them today...first guy I talked to said he didn't have any information on my order so he transferred me to someone else. I had to tell my story ALL OVER AGAIN TO THIS PERSON. She is kind enough to offer to call the distributor to see what the status is. Bottom line, it just shipped yesterday, from California, and it will be at least another week before I get it. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!!!

I originally ordered some mini pendants in early March. I was told they would be shipped in 1 week. 2 weeks later I was told the order was forwarded to a local store for them to ship out. Several weeks later after not receiving them I was told they were on back order till early May. Mid May they told me they were being shipped directly from the mfg in China and they would be in by Mid June. I cancelled the order. On a whim I stopped in a store 30 minutes from my house and there the pendant lights were. They had 6 in stock! I did NOT buy them.
I also had ordered a ceiling fan. They called to confirm my zip code and told me the order was going out that day. 2 days later I received an e-mail telling me the fan was on back order and wouldn't be in for 6 weeks. Guess what? When I went into the store, that also was in stock.

All packages arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I was under the impression that shipping was 2 day UPS. If I had read closer the site claims to ship your order within 2 days from date placed. (I should surely hope so.)
All lamps ordered were great. One had a cracked glass panel. Lamps Plus was glad to ship a replacement glass panel right away.(within two days, naturally!)
We purchased 7 lamps of various styles totaling appx. $700.00. The web coupons offered totaled appx. $30.00. In store coupons were about $60.00. Phoned Lamps Plus to see if they would honor store coupons over phone. They did even better than $60.00!!!!!!!
Be sure to ask questions about their products. They give wrong measurements on their website and then refuse to take responsibility when you talk to their customer service.

I ordered a floor lamp and the two bulbs that were included were shattered. Delivery speed varied for different parts of the order. Separate bulbs were delivered in what looked like a homemade cardboard box with random pieces of Styrofoam in it. Amazingly these were not broken although the box was barely together. The replacement bulbs were ordered the same day as receipt of the original package yet are supposedly to be shipped out on the 6th day afterward! Who knows when I will get them.

The product had a good deal more assembly required than I anticipated. Although not indicated in the catalog, the chandelier components, of which there was over a thousand, had to be hand assembled to make the finished unit. This operation took about 8 hours. I would have preferred to know that fact prior to purchase. Other than that, the product was complete and of expected quality. Read more

I ordered two fixtures. The George Kovacs is just what I wanted. The other -- made in China -- is designed to descend stright from three vertical [largely decorative] chains. Instead, they were wrongly attached in a criss-cross way. My electrician fixed it, at the cost of an extra 1-1 1/2 hours labor. I'd shop at Lamps Plus again IF they had something I really wanted and it was on sale with a good reduction. My most recent experience went this way: One of the three lamps was supposed to be a 3-way but was not and had the wrong size harp to accomodate a 3-way bulb. My husband and I rummaged around the house and decided to switch out the needed parts with a couple older lamps we were replacing. It took up pretty much a whole evening and was rather frustrating. I think that was a great deal of unnecessary hassle for us to do on a "brand new" lamp. When I wrote to ask Lamps Plus how we could fix this they sent me this survey and wanted me to tell their other customers how wonderful everything was with my purchase. I replied to the survey company and told them of the problem and asked for help to contact a breathing human at Lamps Plus to see what they could do to remedy sending something in different condition than advertised and causing us to have to go through a big mess to make it right. Then I got a COUPON FOR 20% OFF MY NEXT PURCHASE from Lamps Plus. No letter, no personal response of any kind. Even worse, the coupon had an EXPIRATION DATE that only gave me a few weeks to use it. I feel like I got a recording that said "Oh, did we make a mistake? Guess that's your problem lady. Sounds like you did alright without us having to do anything. Here ya go. Rush back in and SPEND MORE MONEY IMMEDIATELY in our store, ok? And fill out this survey to tell everybody how great we are while you're at it..."

The second of the three lamps was taken to a lamp shop to have a 3-way fixture placed in it, but I knew I'd have to do that when I bought it. It turned out to be a little smaller than I had pictured it in my mind but it's fine now.
The third lamp was precisely what I wanted to accent a renovation of our bedroom and I'm very satisfied with it.
So. You figure it out. One was not as represented and caused us a hassle and some annoyance at being ignored and then given a sour "piece of candy" to shut me up, and the other two were as I expected. I can't give you a truly "all good" or "all bad" set of answers, so I wrote this instead. I would recommend ordering with caution because if you don't get what you expected don't think you're going to get Lamps Plus to respond to you once your payment has cleared. Read more
