Pros: Color screen, all the basic PDA applications plus a little more. Cons: None that I can see.
For someone wanting a basic PDA, the Palm Zire 31 should make you happy. It comes in handy for writing down notes to yourself, grocery lists, listening to music and even storing pictures, not bad for a basic PDA. My husband confiscated my ...
Pros: $149! Simplicity of use. Battery life. Decent color screen. 16MB RAM. SD card slot. Cons: 16MB of memory instead of 32MB. Color screen not as good as other PalmOne models.
This model has been out for a while now and I've seen this model in the hands of several of the medical students. At $149 retail, the Zire 31 seems like a steal but there are some minor problems with it although the pluses far outweight the minuses. ...
The Palm Zire 31 is one of two brand new PDA's offered by PalmOne in the Zire line-up. The other one is the Palm Zire 72 which is dramatically more expensive. The only original Zire left is the Palm Zire 21, but the Palm Zire 31 eclipses it ...
Pros: Speed, SD slot, color, size, battery life, headphones jack, sale price Cons: Handwriting recognition not customizable, screen resolution, 16 mb built in memory, retail price
Who this PDA is for If you are looking to buy a basic PDA for keeping your appointments, organizing tasks, doing calculations, running various little (non-graphic intensive) applications (like reading books) and possibly listening to music, ...
Pros: Colorful, bright screen Cons: Cheap feeling, grainy screen, poor software bundle, not much cheaper than the Tungsten E
In October, my wife and I both celebrate birthdays, so we often do a joint gift (something larger). This year, however, with my wife starting a new business, and my life getting busier and busier, we both decided to get Palms. I went for the Tungsten ...
Pros: Price, color screen, dependability, lots of downloadable apps Cons: No keyboard input
I had always viewed a PDA as a luxury that people couldn't afford or didn't really need. If anything it seemed like a flashy gadget for the sake of being flashy. Only when I started having to juggle school, two jobs and a personal life did I feel the ...
Pros: Easy to use
Flexible
Affordable Cons: Low rate onboard speaker
No video capability
Well, after rebelling against the very thought of a PDA for some time now, I finally got sick of trying to keep track of my work and school schedules, my four kids activities, my wife's doctor's appointments, etc, etc. I received my 31 as a Father's Day ...
Pros: Price!
Software on it works great.
Synchs superfast! Cons: Not many holsters are available for it.
Wow, synchronizing the information on the Palm with the software on my PC takes 5-10 seconds! Perfect for the lazy person who hates taking the time to backup files. The unit is well suited for my needs. It's slim, compact and fits in your pocket quite ...
Pros: Color screen Cons: Major manufacturing/design flaw; can't change daily agenda background photo
I was tickled with my new Zire 31 until it inexplicably went blank one afternoon. Originally, I discovered my Zire31 in my organizer with a blank screen and a green, glowing line across the middle. I presumed it needed to be charged (I do not know what ...
Pros: Price and color display Cons: It's no Tungsten...
After comparing this with all the other current Palm models I felt that this PDA gave me the most bang for my buck. I had owned an original Palm Pilot Pro. When it started to have problems a friend convinced me to upgrade to the Palm M505. After a ...
Pros: Many features, easy to use. Cons: Unreliable, 90 day warranty, &
lousy customer service from PalmOne Technical Support.
Hi everyone, I bought my first Palm product (Zire 31) in February 2005. I used to have a Sharp electronic agenda that worked great, but it was nearing 10 years old. This is why I gave the Zire 31 a shot. Overall, I would say that the Zire 31 ...
Pros: Great applications, easy update, memory card slot, color screen. Cons: Easily broken.plastic case not durable enough and rubber cover provides no protection.
It was a great product, couple glitches and a few resets, but loved it for what I needed. Had a mishap, dropped it accidentally, warranty will not cover it, and web site even informs you cost of repair is more than value of product. So after a ...
Pros: 1: color screen
2: fast sync
3: easy to navigate
4: Long battery life
Cons: None seen yet
This model is great. It is very usable to keep my home schedule going as well as to work with at the pharmacy. I especially love the notepad where I can actually write instead of having to use Graffiti. That is a great feature when you are just trying to jot a reminder while dealing with a 17 month old.
Pros: Cheap, Easy to Use, Great for beginners Cons: None
I love my Palm zire 31. It's my first PDA and it's so easy to use. It has lots of features and a pretty decent price. You can download info from the computer such as Solitaire (which is very handy when waiting for a doctor's appt).
Defective, Fraudulent, No Customer Service. by tomofseattle ,Apr 12 '05
Pros: Color, Ease of Use, MP3 Player! Cons: Fatal exceptions requiring paper-clip reboot. If hardware goes bad you're SOL
I purchased the Zire 31 in January. In April the left portion of the "5-way navigator button" went bad. I contacted PalmOne via webpage, email and telephone. After speaking with several individuals in India, where PalmOne has outsourced their "customer service" I was told that the defective button was not covered under the warranty.
After re-reading the warranty, http://www.palmone.com/us/support/contact/90day_warranty.pdf, I determined that the button MOST DEFINITELY IS covered by the warranty, but PalmOne refuses to repair or replace the product or refund the money I paid for it ($149.00 at Office Depot).
I bought this handheld as a stopgap for a couple of years until broadband becomes available for the Treo. Now that I know that PalmOne makes cheap crap and won't fix it, I definitely will be buying a Dell.
I got burned and I don't want you to experience a similar fate. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
