I recently changed from being a life long Epson user to the Canon i550. Although my Epsons have always performed routine printing functions well, my interests have moved to digital photography and the Epson C60 that I had performed adequately.

However, I recently got a Canon i550 and the photos are significantly better with truer colors than on my Epsons. The printing is significantly faster and the adjustments permitted by the printer software provide for a greater variation of choices.

Probably the best $100 I ever spent on a printer!

I Love This Printer! I wanted a Canon because of the low price ink. This printer has 4 tanks, so when I run out of one color, I can just replace that tank. It prints fantastic pics on the Canon Pro paper that came with it. The high resolution digital pics I printed look like I had them developed at Wal-Greens. It is also super fast compared to my last printer. It spits out BW prints super fast. Color is just a few seconds behind. The only thing I don't like is it is really really big. But the output tray does close, so that helps. I have already recommended this printer to my family and friends. But I suggest you shop around for a good price. I bought it at Staples because I had a gift card there, then found it at AmXXXX.com for $40 less.

This is a great printer! Text is very good and I find the color prints to be very good on low cost (Wal-Mart) photo paper. Set up was very easy. I previous owned an Epson 740, which was a very good printer. The i550 is faster and much quieter.
