| DeRango's Full Review: 1qt. Weed - B - Gon Ready - Spray Lawn Weed Killer |
As the plot thickens in the saga of my backyard battles, I look to a new ally in the defense of my slowly weakening hold on my yards health. Finding little help in weed killers and crabgrass controllers, I now know that my situation will continue to become bleaker before things can return to a once healthier state.
Those of you whom have been keeping up on my yards situation know that I am battling an array of intruders from several invading properties and areas. East of my property is a farm field, which grows corn & soybeans, between our properties is a strip of *Non-Native grasses. These grasses invade my Kentucky Bluegrass lawn with aggressive tactics as the North lawn contains a vast surplus of Dandelion, and Canadian Thistle, which he has yet to control.
*Non-Native: Grasses from Europe & Africa are invasive grass species that were brought over here, and never existed in North American before they were introduced. Plants in our Natural Prairies like Big Blue Stem are natural and indigenous to this land. Kentucky Bluegrass is also known as a non-native cool season grass, with a smaller root system than a native grass, which is why Kentucky Bluegrass does not hold up as well as a native grass to the climate & weather conditions such as drought. Just an FYI, I learned this in my Botany classes. Dandelions, Garlic Mustard, and other common invasive weeds can be both irritating and damaging to our natural ecosystem as they have no Control or natural predators that eat & maintain a healthy growth.

Overall Experience
It has been an uphill struggle with each of my lawn care products, and this is no exception. I used the entire bottle on my lawn, and noticed it maimed a lot of weeds it claimed to control, but most importantly it did not fair well against the broad leaf invaders like crabgrass. Im beginning to believe you call it crabgrass, because all you do is crab about how you cannot get rid of it!
Truthfully my product experience with Ortho Weed-B-Gon was average as it did not harm my lawn, and it did well against the Dandelions & Clover, but if failed against my more prominent intruders. I still do not give the product full credit for controlling the listed Claimed weeds and hope to find a fertilizer that will help control my crabgrass, which I should apply here shortly. I will definitely write a report on how well that product fairs against my opponents.
Glutton For Punishment
I am sure most of you by now are thinking why do I keep buying these sprays and products if they keep failing? The answer is simple I want to find a product that does what it claims and takes care of the listed plants while maintaining the health of my yard. Im hoping that out of all these products that I will find something that will work for me. Finally when that time comes Ill be more than happy to share that information with you, and I will continue to review other weed control products that the site has to offer.
The product was easy to use as claimed, but it did not show results in 24 hours. Also the lower rating is for the inconsistency in the products ability to control the list of Claimed weeds. Seeing the product did not control what it claims I would not purchase it again, but at least it did not damage my yard like the other products I had used before this one. Alas, the battle rages on!
