Pros: Power! This is the strongest bike you will ever ride! Smokes KX500s!
Cons: Abrupt powerband, headshaking, not the smoothest riding bike out there.
The Bottom Line: With the bottom end of a 4-stroke, and the top end of a 4-stroke, the is the most powerful bike I have ever ridden/owned!

The CR500 is an awesome machine. I recieved my unit last Christmas, and I was full of joy! This is the most fun a 15-year-old can have on a bike!
The CR500 has so much power. It has the power of a 4-stroke down low, and the top of a 2-stroke. It will go screamingly fast and smoke a KX500!
About six months ago I was at the track on the big strait and my friend had a KX and he thought he could kill me, but boy he got showed. There was probabaly 45 feet between us and about a 10mph difference.
The only complaint I have with the CR is that is has a rough ride and a bad but strong chasis.
If you are looking for a better chasis, a company called Service Honda still making CR500r's but here's the trick part...they have Aliminum frames strait from the CR250!
And if you're looking for performance, the CR500 hasn't changed much in the last 5 years so there is a lot you can do to it.
I have heard that the most popular mods are a DEP sport pipe and silencer and different fork springs. Also, a 39.5mm Keihin PWK carb will add 3 horsepower to the top-end and help the engine haul smoothly off the low-end.
Did I forget to mention how reliable the bike is. It is red, isn't it?
