We traded a Mini for this and it has been good.
Our mileage has been roughly 47 mpg with a high of about 56 on a tank and a low of about 42. The effect of that is that we don't care what gas prices are, which is nice.
The first 5 minutes of any trip is around 25mpg because the engine warms up.
In terms of a car, it's reminicent of a very boring video game. The steering gives no feel, there are almost no vibrations from the engine and almost no engine noise. The car is very quiet. I've had it up to 100 mph racing an Audi S4 (he flew away once we made it to open road).
In terms of size, it holds what we need it to, but is somewhat cramped sometimes. The back seat has a tremendous amount of legroom, but hip room for three is too tight for trips further than house/office --> restaraunt.
The trunk is on the smallish size but we haven't needed more than it could provide yet.
Our longest trip was 1500 miles round-trip with two adults and a child's seat with toys, Christmas presents and luggage for a week. It was tight, especially on the way back with the loot given to our one year old.
But it has no soul and is merely an ok place to be. Our Saab 9-3 is the opposite. It has lots of soul and is a wonderful place to be.
The sound system is supurb, the seats are comfortable enough. The GPS is straight out of Lexus and works well. The economy graphing is nice.
Most of our trips are less than 60 miles. I wish that it had an all-electric option or switch.
The goal is for our next car to be 100% electric. With our wind-powered house (Green Mountain Energy), we would then be able to come closer to no direct carbon emissions. Until then, this is about as good as we can do.
