I recently leased a new 2007 Camry CE and so far I've been very impressed. The controls all have a nice feel to them and are located where you would expect them to be. I have found the base 4-cylinder engine to have very adequate power and also gets very respectable gas mileage. I do mostly highway driving and have gotten 32-33 mpg. The automatic transmission is very smooth and the overall ride is too. The Camry rides very quietly and has satisfied my needs quite nicely. The cabin is fairly spacious even for my 6'2" frame. The back seat also seems to have ample space for someone larger than a child. I only sat in the backseat briefly when I first got it but I don't think I would have been too uncomfortable on a medium length trip. To go along with a spacious cabin the trunk also is good size. When I find time to get on the golf course I will have no problem fitting 3-4 golf bags in the trunk.
I can see why Motor Trend named the Camry it's 2007 Car of the Year. It is everything I expect out of a mid-size sedan at a very affordable price. It may not be flashy but it is very practical and has a well known reputation for reliability and high re-sale value. I think the only complaint I can find about it is that it has a foot operated emergency brake rather than a hand operated one, and to many people that may not be a complaint at all.
