I bought a 2007 Camry LE in August 2007 because of its so-called reliability record, and began having problems about the time it reached 1,000 mi. The hesitation/acceleration problem and various rattles began. I took it to the dealer about the hesitation problem and the computer was adjusted. There was some improvement, but the dealer told my husband they didn't know what else to do if the problem persisted. At about 1,500 mi, the paint on the hood starting chipping with hairline cracks coming from the chipped place. Also about the same time, the steering wheel began to vibrate. I traded the car in at 1,875 mi., after having it only two months. The dealership where I traded the Camry in initially thought it had been repainted because of how poor the paint looked, but then told us upon closer inspection, they realized it was just a bad factory paint job. They called it an "orange peel" finish. I do not buy a car very often and being an inexperienced car buyer, I did not notice anything wrong with the paint, because the dealer where I bought it took it through their car wash right before showing it to me, obviously disguising any possible flaws. I took an enormous loss on this car, but I felt I had no choice. I didn't feel completely safe driving it and didn't want to own a car that developed so many problems so fast. Not only would I never buy another Camry, I would also not buy any Toyota. Apparently there is a problem with the paint that affects other models, not just Camrys. This is the first and last Toyota I will ever own.
