this a cheapo collection for the casual fan. Don't listen to "the who" much anymore. Who's Next was the pinnacle. I pulled out "the punk meets the godfather" off quadro awhile back. Still sounded good. I like the Kinks the best right now of the 4 big british invasion bands, particularly Muswell Hillbillies and Kink Kronicles.

Obviously "Baba O' Riley" is a huge omission but I always felt "See Me, Feel Me" never got the love it deserves.

Go ahead and add A Quick One While He's Away to the list of tragic omissions. That song practically was the first rock opera all by itself. For my money, the only collection that does the group justice is the four disk 30 Years of Maximum R&B box set, but I tend to more of a completist when it comes to the who.
(And I agree that Squeeze Box isn't a bad song, but it's been forever tainted for me by some drunk guy two rows behind me when I saw them in concert a few years back. They were on tour playing Quadrophenia in its entirety, and he kept yelling out "play Squeeze Box," completely oblivious to the theme for the whole concert. And speaking of Quadrophenia, how the hell can 5:15 not be on this disk. This whole disk upsets me...)

The Best of The Who without "Baba O'Riley"? That's like making The Best of Breakfast without bacon. Screw that crap.

Though Squeeze Box isn't among their best, it is a HUGE casual fan favorite and got really good airplay, about the only thing from the "By Numbers" album that did
