| triumphant's Full Review: Pioneer PD-RW739 4-Disc CD Changer / Recorder |
If you've had good experiences with Pioneer products in the past, you might be tempted to buy a Pioneer CD Recorder/Player. Don't do it. I have owned this machine for over a year and a half. It is currently in the repair shop to fix the defective loading tray that constantly jams and eats CDs. After it jams, you have to take the machine apart in order to get your CD out. Pioneer is totally uncooperative about addressing this problem or offering a solution. I am not the only one to encounter this problem; this is a defect that many others have run into. I have owned many great Pioneer products in my life. I had a Pioneer projection TV that worked great for 20 years. I currently have a Pioneer HD Projection TV that I love. How can a company that has made so many good, reliable products in the past make such a total piece of junk? From day one, the machine did not operate smoothly or properly. The controls are not user friendly and the loading tray always seemed to have a mind of it's own. If you tried to play a CD in tray one, it would whirl, think about it, and then go to tray two. Whoever the engineer was who designed this thing, he needs to do the honorable thing and fall on his sword. Avoid Pioneer CD players like the plague. I will probably have to throw this $500 purchase away.
