| custom55's Full Review: JVC KD-S550 Car CD Player |
I have had this CD player for about a year or so now, and to date, the only complaint I have is that it skips while driving, oh, and the teeth that hold the plastic ring around the CD player broke off.
For the price of the CD player, it's an extremley good value. It had direct track access for up to 12 tracks, LOUD Bass function, Equalizer, de-tach faceplate, and 4 * 40 watt internal amp.
This is very easy to use, I didn't have to even use the instructions to figure out everything. It has pre-outs for subwoofer hook up capability, and a cool looking display.
This is a good base-model CD player for the one who has a discriminating taste, but a small pocket book.
Its versatility goes far beyond what I would expect for $200. A ton of available AM/FM pre-sets, several display options, and a nice GOOD, CLEAN sound.
The only problem is that it skips on occasion. It's nothing to cry over, but once in a while over a larger bump, it will skip. But hey, it's a pretty darn good deal either way, backed up a by a 1-year limited factory warranty.
