I love my new Olympus Stylus Zoom camera! My husband and I decided it was time for a new camera. (Masking tape was holding our other one together!) We had never had a camera with a zoom lens and were wanting one for our vacation trips. We purchased the camera a few weeks before Christmas to have some time to experiment with it before the holidays. We ended up being SO pleased with the Olympus Stylus that we bought another one just like it for my parents for Christmas!
This is the first Olympus camera that we have owned. We bought it at a local camera shop after comparing many different makes and models and listening to the salesman's recommendations. His opinion was that for the price, the Olympus was the best brand on the market. (They sold several different brands of cameras at the store, so I don't think this was a sales pitch.)
Don't let the size of this camera fool you...it produces top quality photos. It is small enough to fit in your pocket...a definite plus when traveling! Included with the camera are a black leather case, a strap, and one 3V lithium battery. The camera is weather resistant - not weather proof. It also has a built-in flash and zooms up to 140.
The camera is easy to use, and has many great features such as: a Visual Confirmation Finder. This means the shutter "blinks" when you take the photo so that you know the photo has been taken; automatic focus; red-eye reduction; the ability to "spot focus" in on a certain area within your picture; optional panoramic photos on the same roll of film with regular sized photos; date-imprinted photos (only if you choose to do so. The camera also comes with an excellent instruction booklet, which is a plus for photography novices like myself!
