| fe03's Full Review: Sony Walkman D-EJ611 Personal CD Player |
As I perused in the sea of CD players with 10, 20, 40 sec playback or something called ESP, all I really wanted was to replace my old CD player that was five years old and had virtually no anti-skip mechanism. When I say this, I mean that the CD would skip when you just slightly touch the player. Literally. Upon the many CD players and the many brands, I came across the Sony EJ611 CD Discman with G-Protection.
Curiously, I asked the salesperson at my local store what the G-Protection meant and what made it different from the Sony 40-ESP Discman. "Simply put," she said, "It's virtually skip-proof." Very amazed at just the sound of that, I decided to invest my hard-earned money and buy the blue one. (It comes in Silver or Blue, great colors.)
I've had the CD player for more than a month now, running mostly in my car, but also to my trips to the gym, and so far, there has been no skips. I am utterly impressed by this Sony product, as I am with most Sony Products, not just for the skip-proof technology, but also for the other features this CD player has. Of the many features, it can act as a charger for rechargeable batteries. Also, it remembers where you were in the CD on last play. You can turn off the beeping sound, AVLS, and G-Protection if you want, and there are 3 bass settings.
So, if you're sick of the CD-skipping and you're looking for a new player, definitely look at the Sony G-Protection Discman's. It might be a bit more expensive, but it's definitely worth every penny. When they say "Skip-Free" they mean "Skip-Free."
