Pros: Carry 700mb of mp3's around, great for TAPE only cars.
Cons: Small ID3 tag area, slow startup.
The Bottom Line: Great option over buying a $399 MP3 player just change a CD and you can have a lot more mp3's!

| endurance's Full Review: Memorex MPD8505 Personal CD Player |
One thing about trips is if you have a CD player you tend to swap out CD's now and again, but with this CD player you can put in 1 CD and listen for hours.
In a whim to have something for an upgrade from my Diamond Rio 300PMP I saw this CD Player on clearance at Target for $25 with a complete car kit so my good ol clunker with only a Tape player would be able to handle it and play the tunes without a problem.
Sound quality is perfect, you can burn simple MP3 files to a CD-R I have yet to try CDRW simply because I have converted 14CD's and put them into one collection on a single CD. So instead of having to lug around 14 CD's or change my music 'mix' of the month I simply carry around CD's with as much as 14 TOTAL albums encoded at 128kbs bit rate.
A good tool to have with this player is MusicMatch Jukebox, it is affoardable and if you have a CDR/RW you will see rip speeds of up to 15x! You can rip and burn and take away in your Memorex!
I will note I rarely see this model on the shelf anymore, Memorex has released a newer version of their Mp3 player it looks good if not better. But if you can find this one on a bargin rack, do not hesitate to purchase it!
