The day I bought this Aiwa boombox, the words "portable and high-quality sound" came to my mind, cause that was what I was looking for. Most retailers told me: " An Aiwa is the perfect choice ", so I crossed my fingers, and purchased it.
Needless to say, I did not only buy it because someone told me to do so, but I was also attracted by that blue and silvered finish. OK, letīs get to the point...Once I got home and unpacked it, I got a satisfying sensation of..." rigidity ". I was already thanking God that it was not made of those cheap plastic parts.
The remote control is quite small and pretty and is not overflowed with little buttons, though most of the functions can be used from it. The digital tuner with a good bunch of pre-set memories works as it should but the quality of the reception can be easily affected by any factor.
Other functions such as the clock, timer and 3 preset EQ are always included in this kind of portable boomboxes. The Q surround sound function is not that impressive but, anyway, itīs one more feature.
What is more, The sound quality of the CSD-EL300 is clear, steady and consistent, no matter if you force the volume, and the cassette deck is just like any other. Oh!, I almost forgot one of the most serious features this boombox lacks. A headphone or mic jack !! (look what youīve missed out Aiwa !!). Anyway, the relation between the price you pay for this Aiwa and what you get is OK for U$S 95.
