| sb1070's Full Review: FUJIFILM Zoom Date 100 35mm Film Camera |
I have been looking for a 35mm Camera for a couple of months now. I have a Olympus digital camera and usually use it to all my pictures, but my wife said she would like a regular camera to take pictures of the kids, so I started looking for one.
I didn't want a big initial investment and I didn't want crappy camera either, I mean I could buy a couple disposables if I wanted crappy pictures. I went to a few of the local stores and asked alot of questions. I saw a Samsung on sale at Circuit City and I read the box extensively, but it occurred to me that this camera was in a box on a shelf away from the all the other cameras and there wasn't a display model, so I put it back and continued to look.
I watched the advertisements in the Sunday paper and I looked on the internet, and still I didn't find anything I liked. One Sunday I saw an ad for the Fuji Zoom Date 100 for $99.98 at Target so I took a drive. When I got to Target I looked at the selection of cameras and liked a few I saw, especially the Olympus Zoom 80, but they all were a little out of my price range.
I asked the clerk for information on the Fuji and after looking at the manual and comparing the features, I thought I'll give it a shot and if it takes bad pictures I'll bring it back.
I got home and loaded the film and read the manual for operational instruction and took my kids to HersheyPark for a evening of rides, food, games and of course pictures. The next day I took the film (Fuji 400 speed) to RiteAid for processing, and to my surprise the pictures turned out great! The color was truly great, the images were clear and I was very pleased.
This thing is really a great camera for the money. It has 5 flash modes including a night time mode. It has read eye reduction and and a 100mm zoom. It light weight and comes with a strap and case.
If you're in the market for an inexpensive camera, buy the Fuji Zoom Date 100, you won't be sorry.
