Pros: Great features, more then enough inputs, produces great sound.
Cons: If you dont like remotes, you wont like this thing much...
The Bottom Line: I recommend this for people who dont want to spend thousands of dollars for home theater, but want great quality. If you dont like using remotes, its not for you.

| esoccman's Full Review: Pioneer VSX-D710S 5.1 Channels Receiver |
This reciever has all the functions most people would ever need. It has all sorts of useful features, such as midnight mode, which basically keeps the volume from varying too much so as to not disturb others in your house when watching a movie late at night. The number of inputs, both digital and analog, is more then enough for almost anybody. Their is also many S-video inputs, and two component video inputs, which is very useful if you have multiple DVD players, or if you have a playstation 2 or X box which has component cables available. It has provided wonderful sound, and ive had it nearly all the way up without a problem. Im driving two klh 9915 with it, which are 4-way speakers with a 15" woofer(see review), and again, never had a problem. Also, the reciever has an overload feature which will turn the amps off if the sound is being distorted(because of the amp, not if you have bad speakers). Ive never had to use this feature, so thats a plus :). I did have an IC chip go bad inside it, but the repair went smoothly and quickly. Pioneer was very nice about it when i asked for clarification. The warranty is 1 year, which is very nice, especially for the procastinator :). IF you dont like using remotes much, this reciever is not for you. It has a lot of features that you cant access through the reciever itself, and must use the remote. I personally prefer this simply because it has many advanced setup options that you can test from the exact listening area, not all the way up at the reciever itself, but it can be pretty complex. However, if you will be using this for casual listening, and arent all that interested in setting up your sound to perfection, this will not be a problem. ALso, everything you need to know is in the owners manual, which is very explanatory.
