Pros: 5-band EQ. Clean A/B power, 40x4, 100x2 capability.
Cons: None. Not the most powerful amp in the world though.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a smaller diverse amplifier for a good price that can adapt to many different configurations with good SQ, and tweakablilty, then this is it.

Sony gets bad wraps from some people for their xplod amplfiers, but these come from people who have never used or heard their amps, and spend 2 grand for a brax or US amp (top of the food chain in amps). Anyway, this amp is special because it has 5 band EQ for customizing your sound. This is important, because too much treble annoys me and I can adjust it to my liking with this amp. It has clean A/B power and it seems to put out what it is rated for. The SQ is excellent, and it should be or I would have returned the amp long ago. It can be run in a 2 channel mode, three channel or four channel. I would not use it to run a subwoofer, because it is more of a 6x9 or interior midbass amplifier. It does a good job in any channel mode you run it in, and importantly, it has low THD (total harmonic distortion) rating. Even in a bridged configuration, it has only 0.07% THD which is low. I wish all amplifers had eq's like this built in on the amp. It does get a little hot in a bridged mode, but I have never once experienced it going into thermal shutdown. For $269, it is a good deal, but this amp can be had for much less, around 180-190 on the internet. It would do an good job running a pair of 6x9's , giving them 100 watts of clean AB power for a low price, good sq, and treble eliminating eq's. Also, the crossover slope is 12db, and it is ok. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but its no 24db slope.
Also, it has a set of HP/LP crossovers from about 50hz to 200hz. There is also a bypass function for both crossovers, allowing you not use any of the built on crossovers if you don't want to use them.
