The Sony Xplod XM-1004GX is a very versatil Amplifier. It's a very Stylish package that packs a punch with stereo bass. It is a Four channel MOSFET Amplifier that goes all the way down to 2 Ohms.
800 Watts Max Power
A Hard to believe 400 Watts by 2 Channels @ 4 Ohms defines this amp's 800 Watt label. It really sounds great and is very stable at this level. (It is in bridged mode now, combining the 4 channels to make a greater 2)
75w x 4 into 4 Ohms, 20-20khz, @ .04% THD
Great stereo Sound when it is distributed to four channels. Can be 100w x 4 into 2 Ohms for your 2 Ohm Speakers.
75w x 2 + 200w x 1 into 4 Ohms
Here is that versatility again. You may bridge two channels and keep two in stereo mode if you want to power two speakers and a subwoofer.
Variable 50-300hz Hi/Lo-pass filter
Turn on the low pass filter to get your great lows for the Subwoofer or turn the high pass filter on for the best highs for some component or coax speakers. The filter filters out unwanted frequencies and gets rid of sounds that may cause distortion.
40 hz Low Boost (0-10db)
Want well defined bass? Here is your answer. Crank up your low frequencies for louder bass.
Phase Shift Adjustment Control
Sony GX amplifiers incorporate a phase shift control. So you can hear a subwoofer and full range in perfect sync!
Gold Plated, Recessed connectors
Gold, to my opinion, transfers data the best and was a good choice for Sony.
Overall, this GX amplifier is near perfect. One thing I noticed is that it gets very hot when left on a long time. Most amplifiers are this way, but I have to note it. If you need a multi-purpose Amplifier, this may be the way to go.
