| turkishexpress's Full Review: Sony XM-6001GXD Car Amp |
I ended up buying one of these puppies thinking it would power my single 15'' Rockford HX2 well for a reasonable price and did it ever. It was great!! However I ended up blowing a couple of 15's (due to my own stupidity) before I figured out that this amp is best used with a 2 ohm load where it spits out around 500 Watts RMS. Now my preferred driver is the 15''Cerwin-Vega Vega 15D4 hooked up for a 2 ohm resistance. The great thing is that if I decide to add another 15, I would only have to reconfigure my set up to a 1 ohm load, and this amp will still stay stable!! This means less money spent for more BOOOM since I would not need a new amp. Just remember to use a 2 or 4 gauge power wire.
