I bought this camera based on two criteria; Name and price. The camera is a great camera for video pictures. Slightly on the heavier side as compared to others in it's class. The features are enough for my use. If you are a REAL video enthusiast, then I would look at the higher end models. If you are like me and use your video camera occasionally, then this is the one for you.
The larger LCD screen is very clear but uses more battery power, thus making the battery life shorter. I suggest getting an additional battery. I have taken a few still shots, but the quality of the picture is not too good. It’s ok, if you need a quick picture of something and don’t own a digital camera. But, I think you are better off owing a digital camera if you want still photos.
The quality of the video is good. Outdoor shots are better than indoor shots, unless you use a light. The night show is helpful. I used it at Hershey Park at night taping the kids on the rides and it worked great.
You won’t be disappointed with this purchase if you are the occasional video shooter.
