Cons: picture too bright, sound problems, wont play CDRWs Terrible Customer Service
The Bottom Line: I would not do business with a company that treats their customers this way in order to obtain a marginal product.

I wanted to surprise my husband and daughter with a DVD player for Christmas. When I found the Go.Video DVR4000, I thought it would be perfect as we have a large collection of VHS tapes and didn't want to deal with multiple remotes and hooking up a bunch of cables.
When my husband opened up the box before Christmas(which was sealed/not opened) we discovered that there was no remote, cables or users guide in the box. I called the store to see if we could trade it in, and they said that they were out. The box said that the unit shouldn't be taken back to the store, but that we should visit the website or call their customer service department.
I sent an email to their customer service department after unsuccessfully trying to get through on the phone (their hours of operation are limited). The email went unanswered for two days. After Christmas, I made a follow up phone call and was told (after waiting on hold for 35 minutes), "I can't help you, you need to call the parts department.". When I objected to being forced to pay for a long distance phone call due to an error on their part, she simply repeated, "I can't help you."
I called the parts department and got a recording that stated it would be closed until after the 1st of the year.
We hooked it up and attempted to use it without the remote. Many of the features are unavailable through the control panel on the face of the unit. What we did discover was a too bright picture, sound level problems, and performance that wasn't worth the trouble we were being put through.
I took the unit back to the Fred Meyer store where we purchased it. They weren't surprised at the fact that the remote and cables were missing and cheerfully refunded my credit card purchase.
I purchased a Sony 5 CD-Changer/DVD player and couldn't be happier with it. I will not do business with go.video again. It's been over a week and I have yet to hear back from their lousy customer service department.
