xeroid's Full Review: Sony Walkman MZ-R500 PC Personal MiniDisc Player
The great thing about minidisc is their portability. They are small enough to fit in your pocket, yet they pack as ound that is identical to CDs (to most people). The Sony MZ-R50 is a great minidisc player that lets the music of minidisc come to life.
Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, the MZ-R50 was one of the first MD portables I saw in the US. It does not skip when playing MDs, and it is perfect to take out when you go for a jog. The MZ-R50 can almost replace a MD deck, the advantage of the deck si the remote and simpler controls, the MZ-R50 does the same stuff as the deck, yet it is protable.
This product is extremely simple to play MDs on, when it comes to recording, it ight get a little complciated, but never someting that is impossible to solve.
The only complaint I have about the MZ-R50 si that there is no backlit display, therefore it is hard to see in the dark. Other than that, it is a great MD player/recorder.
