I purchased this sub when I did work at Best Buy, and it is definately a house-shaker. Everyone who watches movies or tv at my house makes some remark about the bass. Other users have said that they get a cracking sound from it, but I have never had that happen. Maybe if you adjust it way too high and overdrive it, then it will do that, of the cracking could be because it has been overdriven already. That user may have bought an open box item, which is what I did at first, and it was damaged, so I paid an extra $40 and got a brand new one.

Hands down, this thing is amazing, and I have no complaints. I had people ask me what the loud thumping noise was that they heard when watching the Tyson fight.
