gestevens's Full Review: BIC America DV-62SI Main / Stereo Speaker
Consumer Reports was right on when they rated this speaker above those costing at least 5 times as much. I bought these speakers for my front 2 surround speakers to go with a Sherwood RVD-8090 100 watt/channel receiver. My wife was not a believer in the value in digital surround until she heard this system - and I used BIC speakers all around! I have the DV53si's for rears, D-1010R sub, and DV52si Plus center. I'll probably upgrade the center to match the fronts soon - the DV62clr.
They are sturdy, with solid construction, and deliver amazing highs and very respectable lows for a bookshelf design. Perfect supplement for a 5.1 or 6.1 system with a decent subwoofer to fill in the extreme bass. Although I got an amazing deal when Ubid.com was selling these, they are worth much more than I paid.
Another great feature of these speakers is their efficiency. They can take a weaker receiver or amp, and make it sound much more powerful, due to the DV62si's high signal-to-noise ratio. Great for music as well as cinema. I have one music DVD (The Eagles) that sounds like they're playing in my entertainment room! Even the fret noises sound so real it's hard to describe.
You can't go wrong with these speakers - I highly recommend!
