| fuhnahtik's Full Review: Kenwood KAC-729S Car Amp |
I purchased two of these amplifiers, intending to run two 12" Kenwood subwoofers. I opted to run one, and gave the other to my father for his truck. I have also installed two pairs of Kenwood's 6x8 speakers (6889 model) in my ford focus, and two more pairs in my dad's f150. We both use this amp, with a kenwood sub (mine's a 12", his a 10"). We both also have kenwood decks (excelon series with SIRIUS) and we have been 100% satisfied. No problems during installation (did it ourself, was a fun project for us) or operation of any of our kenwood products. I am currently hooking up my fiance's ford focus (yes same car as me :) with kenwood speakers (6879 model) a deck (entry level price of around $200) and a 10" Kenwood sub (2509 model). I am planning on using another one of these amps (my third purchase of this amp) to run the subwoofer. In all three cases the amp has been bridged at 4 ohms pushing 300 watts into a subwoofer. I recommend a 4 guage wiring kit, as this cuts down on interference & maximizes power, for a little more cost than an 8 guage kit (which is pushing it with this amp anyway). I also suggest dynamat : )
