| buckyrigged's Full Review: Yamaha YST-SW160 Subwoofer Speaker |
This powered subwoofer really packs the punch. The two eight inch cones complement each other, while delivering an awesome well leveled mid range to low range sound. Coupled with five surround speakers a theatre like experience is inevitable. I have this sub attached to my Yamaha reciever, with Yamaha surround package and a Sony Wega. The theater I've created is worth the modest price of the Yamaha equipment. I've also had many complaints on the level of bass experienced by other apartments near mine, even at low volumes. This is a testament to the low end. Most of the time I have this subwoofer at half power (volume), and it still sends a howl through the floor. Available settings include, variable response, movie and music switch, normal or reverse phase switch, volume. This is an overall quality sub, options out the wazoo. Equal to much more expensive subs.
