Sometimes I try things just for sh*ts and giggles. This is one of those instances.
I do not have a problem with my abs. They are well defined and visible to all. However, I know how much misinformation floats around about fitness and exercise. So, I decided to give it a try. Thank God for return policies!
Where shall I start?
Your Ab Energizer, if for some reason you chose to purchase it, comes with; the Ab Energizer belt, 2 electronic exercising pads, batteries, carry case, a fitness gel (supposedly helps you tighten your midsection), and of course the owners manual.
Operating this contraption is simple, you merely push a button and you start sending small electronic impulses into your muscles. These impulses cause your muscles to flex and relax, giving you a no exercise, no sweat workout. Aah, if only being fit were so easy... There are 10 levels of intensity and 2 modes of operation (toning and sculpting). The Ab Energizer automatically shuts itself off after your "workout."
If you order from the TV or online you have a 30 day return policy, which may or may not be honored. I have heard stories of people trying for weeks to get a refund. I bought my Ab Energizer at a local sporting goods store. I was not concerned with returning it in 30 days only because I shop their all the time. So anything after 30 days I could just get in store credit. You may not be so lucky.
If you're not expecting too much from the Ab Energizer you may be pleased with the results if you get any. I'm sure that a sedentary individual, who's only exercise is lifting the tv remote or opening a beer/soda can, could see some results. Perhaps even some significant results.
I would not recommend this piece of exercise equipment to anyone except those most desperately in need of exercise. Anything that will motivate someone to start working out!
The Final Say:
Talk about failing with flying colors! Over about 4 weeks there was no difference in my abdominal strength or tone. I even lent it to my mother to use for 4 weeks and she only commented on how uncomfortable it was having your muscles "twitch unnaturally."
Spongebob_man1 gives Ab Energizer a big fat F. Nice try, better luck next time.
Save your money and go for a walk instead!
