| Steeleangel's Full Review: ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 128 Pro, (32 MB) AGP Video Card |
If your thinking of buying an ATI All-In-Wonder 128 Pro because you have been told what a great card it is. Think again. It's still running BETA drivers. If your thinking of running it with the Adobe Premier $3500.00 editing software package, forget it. The All-In-Wonder BETA drivers will not allow video capture to transfer properly to the Premier 5.0 Deluxe editing or capture features. In short if you where thinking of using this combination, your going to be out several thousands of dollars.
But, if you play to get it just to use as a really cool video card it's great. However if you plan to use it professionally, go buy a video capture card, because this is going to cause you nothing but trouble.
I have a friend that build custom systems. And since I don't want people thinking that I'm just plugging a business, I won't even mention who he is. Anyway, he built a $10,000.00+ system (it keeps getting more expensive all the time) for a client in California. His client ordered a system capable of audio/video editing. My friend was assured that the All-In-Wonder was the best card for the job. Oh God where they wrong. This card has proving itself to be junk over and over. He has tried to contact ATI and has received nothing but form letters from the multi-billion dollar corporation. Apparently they don't have the respect for their clients that we once thought. The customer service they have provided has been non-existent, and they have not lifted a single finger try to compensate for the problems that their product has caused.
So if you decide to use the All-In-Wonder for its basic features, you might be happy. But don't even think of trying to use its advanced features, since there is no real product support for it. That is unless you consider form letter after form letter apologizing for your troubles to be helpful.
