Pros: Fast 3D, Killer 2D, Awesome DVD

Cons: Don't use included drivers

The Bottom Line: If you want overall excellent graphics performance and don't care about the last 5 frames per second, then this is your card.

I decided on this purchase due to my dissatisfaction with the DVD performance of my Ge Force 2 Pro (64 MB DDR). It was like my monitor needed cleaning. What a difference! Everything very clear and bright. The 3D was also better and with the new drivers I did not experience any "texture tearing" referred to by other reviews.

A bigger benefit is the 2D performance! I play pinball games and these run much better and faster as well as more clear with the Radeon.

And the 3 Stooges DVD's (which I paid more for than the card) look like they should - sharp, not fuzzy.

I run a 1.2 GHz Athlon Win 98SE box and the Radeon 8500LE is an OEM (no box) item, but still built by ATI.
