Pros: Good for around three hours of walking.

Cons: Not very good cushioning support in the heels for walking beyond three hours.

The Bottom Line: Save your money and check out some of my high quality socks that I have already reviewed.

Introduction

I got these socks with intentions of hiking and running in them but I first tried walking around in the Adidas ClimaLite Low Cut Socks while on a shopping trip and to my amazement they hold up to providing comfort of an unheard of three hours of walking. After that the amount of comfort starts to fall off which I was disappointed to experience at the price of $11 for two pairs ($5.50 a pair). Personally I would have to say these socks are not well suited for long distance hiking or running unless you are wearing a high performance shoe made by Adidas or Nike etc.

Other Care Directions

A fine point that is not well known is that you should not just forcefully pull on your socks because it causes permanent stretching which eventually will tear a hole in the socks or make them to where they are too loose to wear. Gently roll or bunch the socks pass on over toes to the heel then gently bring them up towards your calf. The point of this to simply prevent stretching and allow for them to be in service for years to come. I have done this practice with (my diabetic socks that I use for controlling swelling [a recent issue]) and steel toe shoe socks since 1997 (nine years and believe it or not some of the socks I still have from that time frame) and really does extend the life of the socks in general but especially in the heel region.

At some point during the time which you have these socks if you notice a loose end clip it as close as you can carefully to the sock with scissors to prevent premature unraveling or bunching or pulling or breaking. Warning Do not just pull a loose strand by hand!

Durability

These socks will last you for a few years as long as you keep yours shoes properly tied and toenails reasonable length; meaning that you feet are not loose in the boots rubbing against the heel portion and your toenails are at normal length so they do not essentially cut through the sock itself. Another thing that is important is proper washing and drying to extend life of the socks. I do not expect the socks to last much longer than three years because of how they perform as far as the level of comfort lasting so shortly.

Conclusion

I would have to recommend that you not buy these socks for exercising any higher than walking or aerobics for about three hours at a time and as far as running and hiking you will need the second pair after the cushioning gives out. Personally I would not have bought them if knew in advance that comfort would last only three hours or so. In addition to the other problem the socks do not remove sweat very well on the underside of the toe area but moisture on the top side of the toe works fine at wicking away moisture.
