Cons: plastic material is bad,
holes appear one after another
bad and rude customer service
The Bottom Line: If you buy it and you see a hole in it, call the customer service right away and ask for a replacement before the one-year warranty expires.
fcc2003's Full Review: Aero Aerobed (Twin, Full, Queen, King)
I've bought an air mattress about a year ago - yeah, the infamous Aerobed you see on TV late at night, with a tiger jumping onto it and so on.
Well, in the first weeks, a small hole appeared on the bottom of the bed, right on the seam of one of its "pylons" that work as some kind of coil. I patched the hole with the repair kit that came with the mattress, but then another hole appeared right next to that patch, and so forth.
I got tired of patching holes, as I was already running out of the patch material and the glue, so I called them for a replacement. Well, they issued a service order and then I had to slice a piece of the mattress and mail it to them in order to receive the replacement.
Three weeks after I got the replacement (and after two weeks sleeping on the floor), one of those internal structures already snapped and formed a bump of the surface of the mattress.
I called the company again, just to hear that my one-year warranty already expired. After a difficult and heated conversation, I convinced the operator to talk to someone above her and send me another mattress. But, this time, they will extend the warranty for only a month after delivery of the replacement because, you know, there is a thing called company policy and they can't bend their own rules.
If a company is going to get my money, I expect their product to work, and as far as policies go, change them! It's not like they are law bills that need to be approved in a session of the congress or the senate.
Another thing that drives me crazy is that these operators talk to you like you are some disobedient kid, telling you what to do and interrupting you all the time.
Learn to listen to the complaints; I was being polite, so don't be rude, shut up and listen. It's your fault the product is crappy, not mine.
Update (2003/06/24): another hole today, 3 mm wide. Don't buy it.
