I just purchased these shoes three weeks ago, and they are quickly becoming one of my favorite pairs of shoes to wear with my brown slacks.
My Fred Meyer store had tons of shoes marked down to half off the clearance price, and I picked these up for only $7.50! They retailed for around $26.00.
Description
This shoes is similar to a slide, in that there is no support or straps behind the back of the ankle. It also has a 2 3/4" wedge heel, and the shoe itself stands 3/8" above that, so these will give you some height.
The front and toe of the shoe is gently rounded, and reminds me of a pair of Mary Janes. There is a 3/4" wide buckle that comes across the top of the foot, and buckles with a black buckle and three different holes so you can adjust fit.
The shoe is a medium brown, and both the inside and outside are made of a very smooth and soft leather. Inside the footbed of the shoe is a burgundy colored material which looks like suede (I don't know for sure if it actually is suede), and this prevents the foot from slipping in the shoe.
The inside heel has the Aerosole name written in silver, and the bottom of the sole consists of a very textured rubber. There is a slight arch on these shoes, but not much of one.
Thoughts
This isn't a shoe that I would normally be attracted to, I purchased it simply because of the price. I normally wear a size 7 in dress shoes, but these were only available in sizes 7 1/2 and up. When I tried them on in the store, I was surprised by how well they fit my feet, I was expecting them to be too long for me.
When I walked around in the store with them on my feet, they were extremely comfortable, and the entire foot bed is padded to provide cushioning. I have worn these to church twice in the last two weeks, and I really need a shoe that is comfortable. We are Orthodox and most of our service is done standing, so having a pair of shoes that are very comfortable are super important to me. These shoes fit that bill. For the price I paid, I honestly wasn't expecting too much, but these shoes have been a very pleasant surprise!
The wedge heel provides stability, the padding is very plush for a dress shoe, and the buckle along the front of the shoe adds a nice feminine touch. When I walk very far in these, I don't feel quite the same comfort level as when I am standing still, as the front opening tends to cut into the top of my foot slightly, but it's really not too bad. I think this may be simply due to the fact that they are actually a half size larger than I would normally wear.
These shoes are dressy enough to wear with slacks, a pair of jeans, and even a casual jean skirt. I love them!
