Pros: Excellent blocking of engine noise, sounds "louder" on airplanes than normal headphones
Cons: Some humming noise (but can be fixed easily)
The Bottom Line: I am now able to listen to my laptop on airplanes and hear everything, plus I can not break them. Excellent value.

I was very impressed by the AIWA Noise reduction headphones. First of all, they fold up so the are easy to travel with. Secondly, they come with an adapter for different types of airplanes or audio systems. (the 2 prong adapter works well on Delta, no adapter needed on United). Thirdly, you put them on, click the "on" button and notice that the sounds disappear. You really do not notice how much until you turn the unit off on airplane. It is lightweight and comes in a carrying pouch that fits easily in any laptop bag.
Updated: Actually, recommended these to some co-workers who found them very useful..some loved them. The thing that I noticed is that you can really sleep better without all the background noise... I used them WITHOUT being plugged into music and it reduced the background noise enough for a decent sleep. Next use, overseas from Los Angeles to Hong Kong.. will update on how it worked out.
Actually, I bought these "open box" at Best Buy for around $20.00 but are well worth even $50.00. If you travel frequently and need a pair of foldable headphones (ie don't break) that works well on aircraft I recommend these!
