Pros: Low cost cancellation of repetitive noise.

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for headphones expecting to reduce random household noises, these headphones will disappoint you.

I bought these on the basis that one reviewer implied that they worked well to reduce random noises found around the house and on the street, not just the repetitive noise from airplane engines, trains, etc. I was interested in escaping from the constant background noise coming from TV's, stereos, people talking, children screaming, etc. which is common in a family household. Unfortunately, these headphones did nothing to reduce that kind of noise.
The headphones were also uncomfortable. They use one AA battery housed in a compartment on the head band above one ear. This protrudes out far enough to hit the head and the battery also adds to the weight of the headphones. The result is not very comfortable.
Sound quality appears to be good with a distinctively louder effect when the noise canceling switch is turned on.
I did not buy these to use in traveling on airplanes so I have no comment on how well they do in that environment.
