| Dex2K1's Full Review: AllGlass Standard Size Aquarium |
To start off I have been taking care of fish for close to a year now. I stopped and started back up. I went to look around and decided I wanted a small tank. The tank that looked the best for my room was an All-Glass 10 gallon tank. Just what I was looking for to start back up again. If you are just starting this review is for you.
How does it look?
When searching for the right tank you can find just the one for your room. Your room may not look right with a black trim. So you can purchase a Oak trim to go around the out side of it. For me it was the original black. The black goes well with my room and with my setting in the house.
-Some people put decorations in it, which I highly recommend. Layer the bottom of your tank with different colored rocks. Same as the trim, whatever suits your room style. I would also recommend putting maybe some plants (fake or real) and it looks great with your tank, and it gives the fish something to hide behind. I would put a top on it! If you ever plan on having fish Put a top on it. To make it look better have lights so it lights up the tank! Looks very good in a room that is not very "life like", like mine.
Remember this fact- 1 lb of rocks for every gallon of water.
Will it last?
As you know glass can break if it is hit too hard. All though it may break I would choose glass over a plastic one. Glass is eaiser to clean than plastic. But back on topic. The glass may get hit a few times so make sure you check the sides of the tank constantly to make sure there is no cracks. That is a down side to glass. But there is a down side to everything.
-Make sure you have a stand. Since this is not a big tank you can put it on a little table or buy a stand. I would buy a stand. Goes back to the look of it. With a stand it looks a lot better.
Will this be a lot of money?
The price will be fairly cheap. My tank was only $10.00 at my local Pet Pro's. This is a very good price so don't expect to get any lower. The rocks are around $3 a bag. The hood was a bit pricy but not bad, the hood goes for $25-30. And the fish, well those are up to you. The price range for the fish are about $1-$15 at the local pet stores. Oh and make sure you have a heater. Set your heater at 72 degrees in most cases. I just got a brand new heater today for $6.99. Not bad and make sure you have a filter. Not much for those.
-A total price of about $50. Not to bad.
This tank is great. I don't think I will be getting any other tanks. Only a bigger size but not any time soon. If you are wanting to start a tank this is the tank for you!
