The Bottom Line: Sound Quality and LOUD for a VERY Reasonable price AND you wont need a HUGE box to get these subwoofers to perform.

Conclusion:
The Type-Rs are quite amazing subwoofers for the price range ($119.00 Shipped). I have them crossed over at 90 Hz (Approximately). The upper octave seems a little boomy probably because of placement (Facing Rear) but it didnt bother me a bit. Transient response is EXCELLENT! Kick drums sound awesome and accurate, Pipe Organ lows are impressive, the Techno beats are absolutely fantastic. The Subs kept up with every FAST BEAT I gave it and it blends in really really well with my DEI Neo 6.5 Component Set.
I did have some issues with the set-up, mainly OUTPUT! They get loud but they are not as loud and low as my older set-up (see below). Im sure that its because I had LESS power (approximately 400-450 watts bridged @ 4 ohms) on them.
The Issue above was SOLVED with MORE Power! These subs LOVE Power. When I switched amplifiers (from 500 watts total to 1000 watts Total) they abosolutely SING! Very musical VERY LOUD and now I'm going to need some Sound Dampers to rid of my rattles.
I give this set-up 4 stars out of 5
I am comparing these subs to my previous set-up which was an Adire Tempest (15 Inch sub) in a sealed 3 cub box powered by an Autotek SX 2300 (Roughly 600-700 watts mono 4 ohms) with the same JVC Head Unit in a smaller vehicle (PT Cruiser).
