cobadee's Full Review: Amplitude for PlayStation 2
By Harmonix, the makers of Guitar Hero, came a game by the title of Amplitude, the sequel to Frequency.
Gameplay
In Amplitude you are a space ship traveling on notes. You have different sections that you have to complete to make a part of a song. An example would be the drums of a Bowie song you would have to travel on a note that was the drum section and then to complete it you would have to hit the different circles at the right time. There are three buttons you press to hit these circles and they are either: L1, R1 and R2, or square, triangle and circle. Once you complete one string of notes, (or quit on that one) you travel to another part of the song. After hitting a certain amount of the circles in a row the thing you are traveling on blows up and the that part of the song, be in lyrics, guitar, drums, etc, will go for a little while and then will re-appear. If you could understand what I was trying to say, it is basically exactly like guitar hero only there are three buttons and you have to travel to different sections of the song.
The game is a short one and could be beat in about an hour if you zoom through it, but the game definately has replay value, as Guitar Hero does. And as Guitar Hero is, it is extremely fun and addicting.
The game has a multiplayer mode and an online mode that probably would both be very fun, but I haven't tried either one of those modes.
Sound
Personally, there really isn't any music that appeals to me in this game but it sounds great through the speakers. Here is a list of the songs, (I believe this is all of them):

Logan 7 - Uptown Saturday Night
Quarashi - Baseline
Symbion Project - Synthesized
Run DMC - King of Rock

Garbage - Cherry Lips
Pink - Respect (OH WHY DID THEY PUT THIS SONG ON HERE, SOO BAD)
David Bowie - Everyone says Hi
Freezepop - Super Sprode
Papa Roach - M-80
Weezer - Dope Nose
Herbie Hancock - Rockit
The Production Club - Rockstar
Mekon - What's Going On?

Blink 182 - The Rock Show

Graphics:
The graphics are great for the time. The game features a lot of cool looking colors everywhere and is really cool to look at.
Last words
This is a great game and shouldn't go missed, it is definately worth the purchase. It's a cheap game now and is a very fun game. Personally, I think that Guitar Hero is a much better game with way better songs, but Guitar Hero is a very expensive game so this is a game to get before it.
