Another great and simple way of doing things and to make your Internet life just fantastic is to have a microphone. There are many to choose from and they can cost a lot! But for us we chose one that cost us 10 bucks and serves our purposes just fine. In fact, we have two of them, one for each computer. My husband uses his while playing Delta Force™ and I use mine when I talk to my children using our Web Cam. Web Cam
There is not a whole lot to say about a microphone but I will try my best. This review may be shorter than most that I write and I hope that is okay with you all. I guess sometimes size doesn’t matter after all!
The Product
Once again, I went to www.dell.com to purchase my microphone. I got my husband’s at Wal Mart a while back. Since at the time I was not using a web cam I didn’t have a need for a microphone. At Wal Mart his cost 9.96 and at Dell mine cost 10.00 with free s/h. great deal I thought since I didn’t have to fight any crowds. I always like that concept.
Plantronics® PC microphone provides me a great comfort and ease of use. We simply plugged the microphone in and it was ready to use. Now, you can download software from the Internet (some are free) if you want to use your unit with online game play. For me I use Yahoo™ Messenger for free and that allows my microphone to work properly. In fact, when I downloaded the Yahoo® free messenger it picked up my microphone allowing me not to do anything but wait for the download. That was pretty simple.
The unit we have is the .Audio 10. It is a very slim design and black in color. It can be mounted on the side of the computer or you can use the mounting base that comes with it. My husband has his mounted on the computer and I have mine in the base. I like that a lot better.

Now, you can get microphones that have more features to them (up to .Audio 90 with Plantronics®) but for our use the .Audio 10 is all we needed. Headsets are also available by Plantronics®

How I Feel
I love the slim, sleek design of this microphone. It takes up no space on my desk at all. I can slide it the side of my monitor and it is out of the way until I am ready to use it. Then, I slide it up to the edge of my desk and the microphone picks up my voice easily.
I am in the process of using a free voice activated software so that I don’t have to type as much. While trying out this free download this mic picked up my voice with no problems. The voice software picked up my microphone when it installed onto my computer and there was no conflict of interest at all. I have recently ordered my own voice software and I expect no problems with the two at all.
I like being able to talk to my children and grandchildren. I never realized the fun in this on the computer. It is instant just like talking on a telephone!
My son sings into it but don’t tell him I told you that! He gets a bigger kick out of it more than I do.
My husband, as I mentioned earlier uses his when playing his game on the Internet. He has no problems either. You will need to look around for a free download in order to use your microphone. He uses Roger Wilco™.
The cost is right, 10.00 and quality of sound is perfect. Ease of use is also perfect.
If you are considering a microphone then please consider this one. It’s just simply great! And remember, Christmas is around the corner and this will make a great stocking stuffer!
