Pros: Solid, compact, cool blue light, indispensable for iBook
Cons: SoundSticks give a very directional sound
The Bottom Line: Apple have pulled it off- this will have you going back through your entire MP3 collection (if it's not already on an iPod, that is!)

The iSub does indeed suck on its own but it only covers the bass frequencies- when bought with the SoundSticks the effect is much more impressive.
I found the sound quality perfect for MP3s and in game music which is probably what they were intended to be used for. if you want reference quality CD playback you're going to have to buy a proper stereo pal. If the sound were supposed to be roomfilling then Apple wouldn't have designed the speakers to give such a narrow space of stereo imaging- this setup only works if you carefully position the speakers either side of the screen and point them up at your ears. You won't be able to rock any parties with this rig.
This combo has freed my iBook from having to be tied to the line in socket on my stereo and its looks and sound together just about justify the asking price. It's discrete and nicely engineered too.
