Cons: OS X, OS 9 switching needed to use my current Epson printer
The Bottom Line: If you want the most bang for your buck get the eMac.

This is a really fun, good looking, fast machine. This is the sixth Mac I have owned and this is definately the fastest easiest to use of any. It only took a few minutes to get the machine out of the box hooked up and checking my email. You could say the machine sets up like lightning.
The other part of the lightning story is that I probably would never have owned an eMac if my old iMac had not been damaged by lightning. Apparenty the ethernet card was damaged and although the computer continued to function somewhat I was unable to connect to the net with my cable modem. I then found out the dirty little not so secret fact that the card is part of the motherboard so repairs were to be in the $500-600 range. Too much for a machine that was going on four years old. I contacted my home owner's insurance and found that I had $250 deductable and that I should get the current Mac most resembling the price and setup of the old machine. For the same price as I had paid for the old CD only 266 machine I got a G4, 17 in. flat screen, CDrw DVD read only running the coolest operating system I have seen.
By utilizing both OS9, and OS X I can use my old programs, print on my old printer, read and edit my old files at a blazing speed. The net is screaming on my cable modem and such features as iPhoto, iTune and iMovie makes handling media so much easier and quicker.
