I bought an Ibook two years ago and have loved it. I use my mac for all my audio needs and video editing needs. In fact I really don't need a full fledged stereo any more. This Ipod is the perfect Compliment for Itunes. I use it primarily in my car while driving but also by the bed (wired into my tivoli audio radio). The machine works flawlessly (I have the model with the spinny face wheel and I know the new models have no moving parts.)
Battery life is amazing, sound quality is excellent and easily customizable, the headphones are slightly too large or too round or something, maybe they should have outsourced that part... They look great though... But so did the Newton.
My advice, Buy it now and get yourself a nice new set of headphones. Save the apple ones for posterity!
By the way, I have a Rio 800 for running, that truly has no moving parts. I wouldn't run with an Ipod if that is your intention... You might hurt the little hard drive.
