Pros: Can be a good teaching tool.
Cons: Can be misleading on what to do when you get lost.
The Bottom Line: If you discus what arthur and buster did wrong it can be a good teaching book.

| cusnwalter's Full Review: Arthur Lost and Found (Arthur Adventures Series) B... |
Sometimes in a book you can find good morals. That is what almost everyone is looking for in a children’s book. Well you might not like Arthur Lost and Found then.
What is the plot of this book?
Arthur’s mom cannot take him to his swimming lesson so his mom tells him to take the bus by himself or with Buster. Arthur is scared but his mom assures him that it will be ok. Buster does not want to go either. Finally they get on the bus, Arthur decides to study and falls asleep along with buster. They wake up and find that they missed their stop and do not know where they are. They get off the bus and proceed into a diner to use the phone (they do have money with them). They learn that the phone is broken by the cook. (They Do Not ask him for help). They decide to buy some food because they are hungry. Finally they decide that they will take the bus back. But to there dismay they have used all of their money. The bus passes by and they finally decide to ask the bus driver for help. They run after the bus and it stops. The Bus Driver is mad at them for stopping the bus but once he finds out they are lost he is very friendly and brings them right home.
Why I have a problem with this Book
It does not teach kids what to do when they are lost. Yeah Arthur did try to call home but it stopped with that. He could have asked the cook for help or anyone else sitting in the diner. He could have even asked the bus driver before he got off.
Should you read it to your children?
Only if you read it along with them and explain what Arthur did wrong. You don’t even have to tell them ask them to see if they know. It could spark an important teaching opportunity. This could be a very good intro book on what to do if you get lost, for parents and teachers as well. But I do not recommend that you let your child read this book alone, they might get the wrong impression.
