| muitocansado's Full Review: Audiovox DV1680 6.8 in. Portable DVD Player |
The Audiovox dv1680 is a good player, but it still doesn't cut it. If you're interested in a screen larger than this one, you might as well go for a 10" Sony Vaio laptop and get some computing power as well. This screen is just as wide as a DVD, no wider, and long, so it's 4:3, just in case you have a television show on DVD too like Simpsons or M*A*S*H. If I were to choose a DVD player, this would be it, in fact, I bought this one, but I returned it because it couldn't play all of my DVDs and it didn't even recognize one as a disc (Shanghai Noon) after I repeatedly tried. I think as soon as Audiovox sees how many returns they get then they'll try to catch up to 1998 DVD technology (even though it's 2002) and make a product that actually plays ALL DVDs. I'm just waiting for them to improve it, perhaps slim it down, and then I'll buy another from them. You'll be better off waiting for a different player to surface in the future. I don't recommend any other player above this either. Portable DVD players are still in their BETA stage.
