jade_stone's Full Review: Avon Dramatic Firming Cream
I got a few jars of the Avon Dramatic Firming Cream when it was on sale and I was on an Avon buying binge. It's part of the Avon Solutions collection and was listed specifically for dry skin.
The listing for it on Avon's site says...
" Rediscover your skin. Our exclusive mix of vitamin E, carrot, apricot and arnica oil improves elasticity and resilience, for noticeably firmer, toned, supple skin in just 4 weeks."
Sounded good.
The cream arrives in a 1.7 oz container. Upon opening it I noticed it had a mildly unpleasant smell, something I've come across with most of Avon's moisturizers. That night I washed my face as usual, and then rubbed in the firming cream. It had a heavy feel and did not absorb in for quite some time. Although I have very dry skin and live in a dry climate, using this product on my face caused me to wake up with a greasy forehead every morning. I continued using it for a few days but quit when I started to break out. I never saw any signs of my skin becoming more firm, but perhaps it would have if I would have continued using it. I know of several women who love this product for their face so as with all products, YMMV.
However, I found it to be an excellent moisturizer for the backs of hands and decolletage, and I keep a jar on hand for those areas. Both areas suffer from sun damage and have signs of premature aging, and this product seems to tighten that skin up and smooth it out. For that reason I continue to purchase it.
Avon lists this product on their site for $8.50 retail but frequently puts it on sale. At the date of this review it's on sale for $5.99, but I believe they've put it on sale for as low as $4 in the past.
