navybmf's Full Review: BOB Trailer Revolution Jogger Stroller
My wife and I just scaled Diamond Head an hour ago with this stroller!!! I've never seen a truer testament to spending $500.00 on a stroller than what we just put this thing through.
Let me start from the long story short. After several unsatisfying experiences with numerous strollers and travel systems with our first son, my wife and I decided to take a little time for research when buying a stroller for our second son. We spent three months of her pregnancy testing various strollers and reading reviews. At our point we pretty much gave up finding the "perfect" stroller. We liked certain features of some of the strollers but were unable to find one that carried all the features we wanted. Until we met "Bob"!
This thing is amazing! Let me start out by saying that my wife and I are by no means wealthy. Shelling out $550.00 for a stroller and baby carrier attachment left us a little queasy. However, this thing has paid for itself in safety, comfort, and convenience.
First, we LOVE the three wheel design. Especially since the front wheel can either be set to rotate (for maneuverability) or rigid (for jogging). This thing does circles around ever other stroller in the mall. And I love the drooling fathers checking it out. Also, because of the rotating front wheel, I don’t have to "lift and rotate" whenever I need to turn as you have to with most joggers.
Second, the thing is built like a tank, period!
Third, the shock absorbers make our son's ride quite enjoyable. He falls asleep every time!
Fourth, there is PLENTY of room for growth. This will be the ONLY stroller we will need for years to come.
Fifth (and finally), there is a tendency for other three wheel strollers to tip over if the front wheel is unlocked. I put my 50lb son in this thing and tried to get it to tip. Fat Chance!
Now, size. This is a little big. A fact that it's impeccable maneuverability makes up for. There is more room for storage than we will ever need. This is nice when you have diaper bags, shopping bags, purses, etc. We also bought the optional cup holder thingy for the handles. Worth the extra $20!! Folding is SIMPLE, SIMPLE, and SIMPLE. And it stores decently into the trunk of our Honda Accord.
We also popped for the carrier kit to make it a "travel system" for $50.00; unbelievably convenient.
If you are an active family or couple and plan on anything from trips to the malls to hiking Diamond Head you'll sing the praises of the stroller every step of the way!
